A man who formerly held the rank of Corporal with the Pocono Mountain Regional Police will spend up to five years in state prison. Steven Mertz was sentenced to 30 to 60 months behind bars followed by two years of probation after being charged with bribery and obstruction of justice. Mertz originally faced 11 counts for the sexual assault of a 26 year old woman who he pulled over for drunk driving back in October 2019.
