A 16-year-old is charged in a Monroe County crime spree that hit five properties in Chestnuthill Township Saturday. Businesses were ransacked, a home was shot at, and 40 rounds were fired near the West End Fairgrounds. State Police say more suspects are likely. No injuries were reported.

A Wallenpaupack high school student is facing felony charges after police say they tried to strangle a school van driver with a string-like object. Investigators say the student made a death threat during the March 12 attack in Palmyra Township. Charges include aggravated assault and strangulation.

A barn was destroyed by fire last Thursday night in Polk Township in a wooded area along Lower Middle Creek Road. It happened just before 10pm. Heavy smoke and flames were visible among the trees as crews arrived to battle the blaze. Nobody was hurt. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
